Not more than 5 minutes ago I was cleaning up some files I had downloaded earlier. A slip of the keyboard and before I know it I was delete all the files in my home directory. I was lucky in that rm can’t cope with directories unless you tell it, so it really was just my files. But I was still anoyed that I had gone from 80+ entries to around 20 with just a small slip.

Backups saved me, in less than 2 minutes I had mounted by backup disk and copied over the missing files.

Moral of the story: Don’t be lazy, do you backups.
