New Zealand Round Up

I’ve put a load of pictures from my three weeks in New Zealand in the gallery divided into weeks. I took many more than are actually there but the rest are either crap, pictures for others, or stuff that is simply a waste of time putting up. I’ve left the original pictures there and added an extra one, these are a summary of my time to save you going through all the pics.

We didn’t make it all the way around the world in the end. We are still not sure what happened, maybe it was a mistake on our part, maybe the travel agents gave us duff information, maybe Air New Zealand changed plans, but in the end we flew back the same way as we went out – via Hong Kong. Not that we minded, it should have been a shorter flight time (24 hours v. 26/27 hours) and we would get into Heathrow earlier. Winds and delays at Auckland and Hong Kong airports saw to it that we ended up landing at what we thought was our our original time.

My Facebook account has exploded into activity in the last 3 days with loads more people being added and each of us putting pictures up. I’ll put mine on soonish. There is also loads of people now moaning about being back in the UK or nearing the end of their travels. I have to admit to also moaning.

Tonight I feel almot normal. On Tuesday I stayed up until 11pm, but yesterday I just had to go to bed at 9pm. The downside being that I then woke up at 5.30am this morning. Mid afternoons are the worst, around that time my body just wants to shut down and go to sleep as it’s the middle of the night for me. My aim is that by the end of the weekend I’m back to normal with my sleep patterns. When I arrived in New Zealand it took 4 days to adjust so I’m hoping for the same.

So with the last of the New Zealand transactions just about cleared my bank account, plenty of pictures, and of course the memories and experiences it’s back to normal for me – except to start planning where I next want to go… :-)
